The formula for:
C to F is: C * 9, then divide by 5 and then + 32...
or
9
(212-32)
F = C x ---- +32 or
C x ------------ + 32
5
100
And to really make it simple for everybody who doesn't tend
to remember math equations?
F = C x 1.8 + 32 |
and for F to C? "Flip" the equation and reverse the calculation order |
C = F - 32 / 1.8 |
Using only the 2 factors, "1.8" and "32" reduces potential equation error
If you are doing it right, the boiling point of water at STD barometric pressure, 100c will always convert to 212f and 212f will always convert to 100c.
For some background, to make it easier (or harder :-) to remember, the C to F formula is really:
C * (212-32) (it's always 180 and that's where your Lowest Common Denominator "9" comes from), then, divide by 100 (there's where your Lowest Common Denominator "5" comes from), then, + 32. = F
