Factory Pro Shift Kit - Virtually Eliminate Missed Shifts
(this is the stock arm) (this sample pic of a F-Pro Microbearing arm) SHFT-ARM-S29-49h00-CERAMIC RM-z250, 16-20 *Hybrid CERAMIC Microbearing Detent Arm* (tough steel races with low friction ceramic balls) replaces oem 25350-49h00 arm $89.95 (new F-Pro Microbearing arm) SHFT-ARM-S29-49h00-STEEL RM-z250, 16-20 STD STEEL Bearing Detent Arm replaces oem 2016, 25350-49H00 $69.95 |
F-Pro Microbearing Detent Arm Part of the shifting problem is that there is just too much friction in the shift mechanism. Factory Pro produces a detent arm with a slick rotating ball bearing instead of a stock scratchy riveted disc. Reduce ugly and unattractive friction for virtually
perfect shifting. The F-Pro arm and the recalibrated, heat treated F-Pro spring are the solution in helping the Suzuki develop bulletproof shifting. The tough, steel raced, Hybrid Ceramic Microbearing is the ultimate in friction reduction for this use. The STD Steel arm is 98% as good as the Hybrid (and less expensive) - and both are way slicker than the stock riveted roller. Installation: The detent arm and shift spring sit right under the clutch basket - so, it's just R&R the clutch basket to install. About an hour to install. Marc "No missed shifts" Salvisberg 415 883-5620 Works great! It was easy to install. S. Berger (rmz250) It's freggin awesome. Night and day difference.. I raced this weekend.. 4 motos and never a miss shift or false neutral Dec 2013 I had the new detent spring installed and also went with the Factory Pro arm - it doesn't have any slop/play like the stock unit does. Rode it today for the first time and it shifts like my 450 now. Not a single missed shift. That's the best spent mod I may have ever done, Dec 2013
I
initially thought the Factory Pro arm and spring was very pricey,
but what I learned, this is all these guys do. They have a niche and
they do it well. Feedback:

"Matched" F-Pro shift spring for the Microbearing Detent Arm
F-Pro Competition Shift Spring for the RM-z250, 16-20 (13-14 model must use both the F-Pro arm and the F-Pro spring) pn: Z95-S28-0601 $39.95 replaces oem 07-09, 25355-10H01 too soft oem 10-12, 25355-49H00 too soft oem 13-16, 25355-49H10/H20 too strong |
F-Pro Competition Shift Spring Miss fewer shifts. Fewer false neutrals. Suggest the Arm + Spring for best results. Helps speed up shifting because the shift drum rotates quicker between shifts. Combine with the F-Pro Microbearing Shift Detent Arm for the sweetest results. Our spring is matched to the F-Pro Microbearing Detent arm - not sledgehammer over-stiff. Marc "No missed shifts" Salvisberg Factory Pro marc@factorypro.com Note: We have not long term tested the extremely stiff, but less expensive, 2013 RM-z450 spring. I know it will work with our arm, but it's way more pressure than the arm needs to be to fix the shifting and I'm a bit concerned about long term wear in the shift mechanism, especially with a stock arm. |
Adjustable Center Shift Stud $29.95
|
If the shift shaft fingers aren't centered on the shift shaft, Factory Pro has the fix. To get equally good up and down shifting - you need to control how the shift shaft grabs the detent star posts. It's a special
offset "centering" stud, adjustable by almost 1mm. Install the stud with
enough threads exposed for the locknut.

The extension of the laboratory
for engines of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology was completed
in about 1935. Its architect was Rudolf Otto Salvisberg (1882-1940).
He had a successful career in Berlin but returned to Switzerland after
the advent of the Nazis. His architectural style was somewhat similar
to that of Erich Mendelsohn. The staircase of the laboratory is in normal
use but well preserved. Edited to the tunes of Chemical Residue by Herbie Hancock. |
