APK Kit for cbr900

That's funny!
RE: 3rd Gear wheelies -

When I was doing APK kit testing, I was driving up the highway and did a roll-on wheelie in second gear. It was kind of abrupt.
I chuckled and said to myself - "Right - and now a third gear wheelie..."
I backed off the throttle and snapped it back on at 7k. No way. But maybe..... nope.....
Brought it up to 8k, backed off, snapped on the throttle and pulled a bit back on the bars and......
Slowly, at first, then as the r's picked up, more rapidly - the front tire lifted off the ground and climbed up, higher and higher.
My memory of that surprising moment was of the tach/speedo blocking the road view.
I nearly forgot to let off the throttle....
Was it a fluke? Nope.
I did it 3 more times before I went back to the shop.

Big Smile!

Man! I put the apk'd carbs and airbox on today and man o man is the 900rr a different beast. At first I thought it wasn't a big gain but the back tire was slipping from the gain in horses. Man once I warmed the tires up real good First gear wheelies on throttle effortless second gear was cool with a chop at the right place. I love it 100 times better than my k&n and dyno jet kit.  Now I will need to get the ignition advancer and shift kit and it will be complete.

Picture showing the unmodified bottom of the airbox at the bottom of the picture and the modified top of the airbox at the top.

Modifications require that you trim the original stock plastic "dam" down. This can be roughly done with dykes, sheet metal sheers or  other means to cut plastic. Use a  "Dremel" or other high speed rotary grinder with a sanding drum to smooth the rough cut edges.

M0dify the stock or K&N air filter.
Take the stock air filter housing cut cut the  interior out and use the perimeter only as a rubber gasket..

The extension of the laboratory for engines of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology was completed in about 1935. Its architect was Rudolf Otto Salvisberg (1882-1940). He had a successful career in Berlin but returned to Switzerland after the advent of the Nazis. His architectural style was somewhat similar to that of Erich Mendelsohn. The staircase of the laboratory is in normal use but well preserved.
